Transportation

Transportation for the Hiking 22 and 35A/B participants

The organizers provide transportation by buses or minibuses for participants from Kolozsvár (Cluj) to the START în Răchițele (Gy22, Gy35A/B), from Székelyjó (Săcuieu) back to Kalotaszentkirály (Sâncraiu) (Gy22), as well as from Kalotaszentkirály (Sâncraiu) to Kolozsvár (Cluj).

Attention! Gy22 and Gy35A/B participants who travel to Kalotaszentkirály-Zentelke (Sâncraiu) with their own vehicles are advised to request transportation from Kalotaszentkirály-Zentelke (Sâncraiu) to the start in Răchițele (Havasrekettye). It is not recommended to travel with their own vehicles to Răchițele (Havasrekettye), as the tour ends in Székelyjó (Săcuieu - Gy22) and Kalotaszentkirály-Zentelke (Sâncraiu – Gy35A/B) respectively, and will not have the possibility to travel back to their vehicles.

Transportation for the Hiking Kőhegy A/B/C participants

For the participants of this tour we do NOT proivide transportation with buses from Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca) to Kalotaszentkirály-Zentelke (Sâncraiu), because based on the experiences of the previous years there is no interest for this.
From Kalotaszentkirály (Sâncraiu) to the starting point of the tour (the parking of hill Kőhegy) we provide transportation for everyone, including those who come by their own cars to the START.
The transportation from Kalotaszentkirály(Sâncraiu) back to Kolozsvár(Cluj-Napoca) is provided by the organizers by buses and microbuses.

Limited number of participants

This year, the number of participants is limited because of the capacity of certain locations. Accordingly, we allow a maximum of 450 accepted participants. If you register, but do not pay your participation costs, you may be left outside of the 450-person limit and we will have to cancel your registration. Therefore we ask you to pay your participation costs as soon as possible after registration in order to secure your participation. If the limit is reached earlier, registration will be closed before the registration deadline.

What will be provided for the participants?

  • The organizers provide each participant with a time card, and at request a printed tour map with detailed route description and a memorial t-shirt. Those who complete the tour will be awarded a certificate and a badge
  • The participants will receive energizing snacks at the Vlădeasa Hut (apple, banana, muesli bar, wafer bar, grape-sugar). Drinking water will be available at most checkpoints.
  • At the FINISH in Kalotaszentkirály-Zentelke (Sâncraiu), starting from 14:00, all participants are invited to a bowl of warm meal.

First aid

The checkpoints will be provided with first aid kits.
A medical practitioner will be on call for the whole duration of the tours.
The mountain rescue service (Salvamont) has been notified about the tours.
However, the participants should be aware that on certain sections it can take some time for the help to arrive. Therefore we ask all participants to bring with them a small first-aid kit, with the following recommended content: band aid, disinfectant (hydrogen-peroxide, Rivanol solution, Betadine), Magnesium tablets, Claritine tablets (for bee or wasp stings), bandage material.
